Ivet Tezel was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1945. She went to a French middle school in Istanbul and later studied high school abroad . In 1964 she moved to Ankara to join her husband and attended many art schools there, earning certificates for her craft. In 1980 she continued her painting studies at Sabri Berkel art studio and later studied with artist Ekrem Kahraman. In 2000 she attended university to study Comparative Literature and Contemporary Arts. For the last 20 years she has been working with four of her artist colleagues in a private atelier and has presented her works in many personal and collective exhibitions.
